AP Style dates, times, and ages trip students up more than almost anything else — September 15th, 7:00 PM, the nine-year-old goalkeeper. The rules aren't hard once students learn them, but there are enough of them that practice matters. This two-page worksheet runs students through three types of work: Part A (6 sentences): Find the error and write the correction. Errors are embedded in natural-sounding sentences so students have to actually read, not just spot obvious mistakes. Part B (5 multiple choice): Choose the correct AP Style form — format questions focused on the rules students most commonly miss.

Part C (3 rewrites): Rewrite the entire sentence correctly. These include multiple errors and require students to apply everything at once. 34 points total. The answer key labels every error by name and explains the rule — not just the right answer.
